Why is my TV flickering, displaying distorted colors, or not able to get video and audio on both TVs?
Certain Cable/FiOS Set top boxes and DVR boxes are limited to only 1 downstream HDCP (high-bandwidth digital-content protection) device that they can connect too. This means that devices like MyWirelessTV, A/V Receiver, or Google TV, HDMI repeaters/switches that are strictly adhering to the HDCP requirements cannot legally pass video to the display. You can call your Service Provider and describe the "HDMI repeater/switch" related issue, and request a free firmware update. Or As an alternative you could also request that the Service Provider replace the HD Cable or FiOS STB/DVR box, with a model that can support repeater mode.

Why is my Sync light blinking red and green? I dont get any video and audio on the remote TV.
The "Sync' light is blinking red and green because the MyWirelessTV devices cannot connect to each other. The MyWirelessTV devices could be out of range of each other, or having difficulty initiating a connection between each other, or there is interference from some other wireless device in the proximity of your MyWirelessTV devices.

The steps below will help you troubleshoot this issue.

1)Power down and disconnect the MyWirelessTV Transmitter from the source (i.e. Cable TV box). Then bring the Transmitter closer to the Receiver and power-cycle both units. Then check the following;

a)Check both of the MyWirelessTV devices, the Sync LEDs on each of them should be rapidly blinking GREEN.

b)Look at the TV that's connected to the MyWirelessTV Receiver; check the "Source Select" message on top left of corner of the TV. It should display a "Connected" or "HDMI unplugged" message.

c)Press the (i) button on the remote control provided with your kit. The popup that appears should display the connection status of both Transmitter and Receiver with IP addresses of 192.168.3.x.

2)If the Sync LEDs are slowly blinking GREEN, move the unit(s) closer to each other to verify that the units can pair with each other at a closer range.

a)Press and hold Sync button on both units at the same time for 5 seconds, and then release. Wait for 2 minutes and

b)The Sync LEDs should begin to rapidly blinking GREEN. If not it does not move the devices closer to each other and repeat step "a"

Why am I having trouble changing the channel from my remote TV?
Check the position of the IR blaster that is connected to your MyWirelessTV Transmitter. It needs to be in the close vicinity of the IR port on the video source device (Cable/Sat STB or DVR box). After you have reposition the IR blaster, take your source device (Cable/Sat STB or DVR box) controller to the location of your MyWirelessTV receiver and check if you are now able to change the channel.

Why am I not hearing audio or the audio is intermittent on the remote TV?
Sometimes the systems may fail to authenticate properly, causing the audio to be out of sync or not stream properly.  Power cycle both MyWirelessTV units by disconnecting the power cable from the power port for 5 seconds and then plug it back.

How come I cant view different channels or video content with MyWirelessTV? The remote TV always shows the same video as the local TV.
Think of MyWirelessTV as a 'wireless cable'. It is not an additional TV tuner for your Cable or TV service. Therefore, it's only going to show what you're connected to.

How come Im not seeing anything on the TV screen near the Transmitter?
Check the cable connection from the video source device (i.e. Cable/Sat box) to the Transmitter and from Transmitter out to the HDTV.

My cables are connected properly, but Im still not seeing video on my TV screen.
Make sure the video source device is powered ON and the correct source input is selected on your HDTV. If the MyWirelessTV device is connected HDMI1, then you must select input HDMI1 on your HDTV.

Im not seeing anything on the TV screen next to the Receiver.
Check the cable connection from the MyWirelessTV Receiver out to the HDTV. Also, make sure the correct source input is selected on the HDTV. If the MyWirelessTV device is connected HDMI1, then you must select input HDMI1 on your HDTV.

I cant change my channel or volume with the remote control included with the MyWirelessTV Kit.
The MyWirelessTV remote control provided is intended for switching multiple inputs, pairing configuration, and software update. It is not a universal remote control.

Why can I not hear the 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound audio on my main A/V Receiver system?
Make sure your devices are connected correctly.

1)Verify that the video source devices (STB/DVR/Blu-Ray) are connected correctly to your Audio/Video Receiver (Check the manual for those devices for more information).

2)Make sure that the Audio/Video Receiver is connected to your MyWirelessTV Transmitter with an HDMI cable.

3)Check the MyWirelessTV Transmitter, to ensure it is connected to the HDTV with an HDMI cable.

4)Also, verify that the MyWirelessTV Receiver is connected to your HDTV with an HDMI cable.

This will allow the Audio/Video Receiver to process the original audio coming in from the video source and you should be able to hear 5.1 or 7.1 surround audio on your system.

Why am I losing video on the local or remote TV when I have my Audio/Video Receiver connected to the MyWirelessTV device, when it works fine if I connect the MyWirelessTV device directly to my STB/DVR/Blu-Ray?
Certain source devices are not compatible in a dual-repeater setup. Your Audio/Video Receiver and MyWirelessTV Transmitter are both considered a repeater, therefore the source device may fail to authenticate properly and this can cause the video to flicker, or distorted video to be seen on the TV display.

To eliminate this issue, Power-cycle the MyWirelessTV Transmitter, and or all the devices in the setup at the same time (if at all possible). Check the Actiontec.com website for latest firmware for the MyWirelessTV device. We're constantly updating our software to improve any known compatibility issues.

Why am I not getting any video or incorrect video content on the remote TV in a setup with my Audio/Video Receiver?
Check the connections on the Audio/Video Receiver and the MyWirelessTV devices and verify the following:

Make sure your devices are connected correctly.
1)Make sure the video source devices (STB/DVR/Blu-Ray) are connected to your Audio/Video Receiver (Check the manual for those devices for more information).

2Verify that the Audio/Video Receiver is connected to your MyWirelessTV Transmitter with an HDMI cable.

3)Check the MyWirelessTV Transmitter to be sure that it is connected to the HDTV with an HDMI cable.

a.Also check that the MyWirelessTV Receiver is connected to your HDTV with an HDMI cable.

4)Verify that the source device and the Audio/Video Receiver are powered ON.

5)Make certain that the correct source has been selected on the Audio/Video Receiver.

Can I watch TV remotely even when my A/V Receiver is turned off? I dont want to leave my A/V Receiver powered on and/or I do not want to hear the sound out of my surround sound system.
Yes. Most of the newest A/V Receivers should provide a feature called "HDMI Pass-Through" or "Standby Pass-through" that allows video source to pass the video and audio signals over HDMI cable, even when the receiver is in standby (OFF) mode. Refer to your A/V Receiver user manual, and/or the video source (i.e. Blu-Ray player) user manual, and also check the cable for compatibility with the "HDMI Pass-Through" or "Standby Pass-through" feature. If your A/V Receiver does not support this feature, you must leave the A/V Receiver ON and turn down or mute the volume.

What is the signal transmission rate for this product?
The MyWirelessTV supports compressed H.264 1080p60 HD video content up to 70Mbit/s.

Do I need to subscribe to use MyWirelessTV? Can I get free TV channels with MyWirelessTV?
No.  MyWirelessTV enables you to transmit the video content from an existing HD Cable or Satellite box to another HDTV in the house wirelessly.  An additional service subscription is not required.

Can I watch Internet content (i.e. Netflix) or can I browse the web from MyWirelessTV?
If the source device (DVR, Blu-Ray, etc.) youre connected to supports these features, the answer is yes. Remember MyWirelessTV is simply a wireless cable replacement. MyWirelessTV can also be connected to a HDMI-enabled PC allowing you to browse the web or play games on your HDTV.

I got a MyWirelessTV receiver but couldnt pick up any TV channel.
MyWirelessTV HD stand-alone Receiver is not an over-the-air antenna. The Receiver allows you to connect your MyWirelessTV Kit or Transmitter to an additional HDTV.

I already have the kit, how do I add a second Wireless HD Video Receiver?
Obtain the latest software update from the support site (listed below) and update all units in your MyWirelessTV system.  This enables the Multi-Unicast feature.  Connect the 2nd Wireless HD Video Receiver to your 2nd HDTV.  Power on the unit and press the Sync button of your MyWirelessTV Video Transmitter unit to initiate the pairing process.  Refer to the Quick Start Guide and or view the online video tutorial for guidance.

How come firmware upgrade doesnt work?
Make sure you've downloaded the latest software driver from the support page and copy it on the root directory of your USB thumb drive. Follow the instruction provided on the Driver/Firmware Updates section.

Does MyWirelessTV support wireless keyboards and mice?
Yes. MyWirelessTV supports ANY HID wireless keyboards and mice (including wireless keyboard/mouse combos). MyWirelessTV does not support most Bluetooth devices or dongles.

How come Im not seeing video on the local TV when I view Standard Definition (SD) videos?
MyWirelessTV does not support 480i SD video resolution. If the sources native video output is in 480i format, then the video pass-through to the local TV will fail to display. Make sure to configure the native video setting to "OFF" on your Set-top-Box (STB) or Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Refer to your STB or DVR user manual video setting if necessary.

What is Actiontec doing about the industry wide issue of the (WPS) Wi-Fi Protected Setup PIN brute force vulnerability?
As of 1/31/2012 all future Actiontec products that have the (WPS) Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature in the firmware will also contain a WPS "lock-out" feature and/or any other Wi-Fi Alliance recommended improvements to the (WPS) Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

Why does the picture quality seem a little less than crisp and clean, produces intermittent screen artifacts, or the video and audio intermittently stop, skip, fail to display, or repeatedly turn off and back on?
The MyWirelessTV automatically selects the first usable wireless channel on which to operate. There may be some interference on the wireless channel your MyWirelessTV is currently set to use. You may change this channel in the MyWirelessTV menu.

The steps below will help you change the wireless channel:

1)Aim the remote control that came with your MyWirelessTV kit at the MyWirelessTV RECEIVER and press the 'i' button (near the middle of the remote control, between the 'Exit' and 'Back' buttons).

a)Make note of the wireless channel currently being used as displayed on the Advanced Settings screen.

b)Press the 'Exit' button on the remote control to exit the information screen.

c)Now press the Menu button at the top right-hand corner of the remote control. The main menu screen will appear.

d)Using the arrow buttons in the top section of the remote, select "General Settings" from the main menu and press the OK button.

f)Select Wireless Channel, and then press the right arrow button.

g)Select any channel other than the one you noted from the Advanced Settings screen and then press the OK button. (It is best to select the channel farthest from the current channel. For instance, if the current channel is 44, select channel 157.)

h)Confirm your selection. Both transmitter and receiver will power cycle. Your video should come up automatically.

i)If you have additional receivers, you will need to reboot them manually.
