SUNNYVALE, CA (November 14, 2006) - Actiontec Electronics announced today that VoSKY Exchange, a plug-and-play PBX gateway that enables businesses to use their standard office phones to make and receive free and low-cost VoIP calls over the Skype network, has been named a winner of a "Best of Show Award" at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)'s INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference and EXPO West 2006. TMC reports that the conference was attended by over 6,400 people last month at the San Diego, California Convention Center.
VoSKY Exchange adds up to eight outgoing Skype lines to the office PBX without changes to existing PBX equipment, phones or user PCs. It is designed for businesses with 10 to 300 employees, can be installed in two hours, and routes Skype calls over standard office phones, eliminating the need to use a PC and headset. Multiple Exchange boxes can be set up in company offices in different cities to enable free calls between colleagues and to accept calls from remote employees at no charge. All other long-distance and international calls are free to Skype users or a fraction of the cost of standard PSTN charges to non-Skype users with the SkypeOut service.
"This 'Best of Show' award can be traced directly to the ability of our VoSKY Exchange product to VoIP-enable businesses quickly, cost-effectively, and with the power of the world's largest VoIP network," said Mike Ehlenberger. Vice President of North American Channel Sales for Actiontec Electronics. "There is simply no better solution on the market for adding VoIP to an existing PBX."
"Actiontec and their innovative product, VoSKY Exchange, are a standout indication of why so many service providers, enterprise buyers, developers, and resellers descend upon INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference & Expo twice a year," said TMC President and Conference Chairman, Rich Tehrani. "The presence of outstanding companies like Actiontec further demonstrates INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO's status as the leading forum for the VoIP and IP communications industry. Attendees know they'll find solutions in the Actiontec booth that can help them in their businesses today."
The INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Best of Show Award recognizes innovative products and solutions that were featured in the Exhibit Hall during the event. This designation serves to highlight the technological achievement and creative product features that set these winners apart from the rest of the crowd. INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine editorial staff met with vendors to inspect and review the displayed products over the course of the three-day event.
