Sunnyvale, Calif., May 11, 2009 - Actiontec Electronics today announced that its Next Gen Wireless Broadband Router (Model # MI424WR) was honored with a prestigious Best in Class award from the Broadband Multimedia Marketing Association (BMMA). Actiontec won BMMA's annual Vendor Innovation Award, which recognizes the broadband vendor that best displays innovation in marketing theory, practice, or operations. The award was announced April 27 during the BMMA Annual Meeting in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
"The BMMA has played an integral role in promoting and advancing the adoption of wireless broadband and DSL services. We are truly honored to be recognized with their annual award," said Brian Henrichs, VP Business Development at Actiontec Electronics. "Our goal is to stay on the leading edge of the broadband home gateway market with faster speeds, better performance, lower operating and capital costs, enhanced value-added applications, and a consistently positive end user experience."
First launched in July 2008, the Next Gen Wireless Broadband Router sets new industry benchmarks for performance, enabling service providers to increase service speeds beyond 100 Mbps and better meet the needs of an increasingly sophisticated consumer base. With its unprecedented high performance hardware design, the router can handle multiple high-throughput media streams simultaneously, including standard and HDTV-based video programming, online gaming, music, live sports, children's entertainment, and more.
In addition to the routers's groundbreaking performance, the BMMA Marketing Award recognized Actiontec's close partnership with specific service providers during the product development to ensure the device met all carrier specifications and application needs - from connectivity and networking standards, to performance specs and management requirements.
The award also recognized Actiontec's innovative customer support and marketing campaign to support the Wireless Broadband Router, increase user adoption rates, and ensure customers are able to take advantage of the router's advanced functionality to the fullest extent. For example, Actiontec's online How To Zone features more than ten tutorial videos (also available through YouTube) that guide customers step-by-step through a wide range of applications, including how to port forward or how to connect an iPhone to the router wirelessly.
The BMMA is a nonprofit organization formed to enhance the business prospects of vendors and service providers in the ILEC broadband / DSL services industry. For more information on the BMMA and its awards, visit http://www.bmma.us/
