Actiontec and TDS Telecom Win First Ever Marketing Partnership Award from Broadband Multimedia Marketing Association
Actiontec also wins Marketing Innovation Award for its MI424WR fiber router
Sunnyvale, Calif. - March 30, 2011 - Actiontec Electronics announced that it won two awards: "Best in Class Marketing Partnership" and "Best in Class Marketing Innovation" at the Broadband Multimedia Marketing Association (BMMA) Annual Meeting held March 7-8, 2011 in Atlantic Beach, Florida.

First introduced in 2008, the BMMA Best in Class awards recognize individuals or teams that demonstrate innovation or excellence in marketing broadband services. The Marketing Partnership award, which is new for 2011, is awarded to two or more members that have successfully implemented a marketing program to serve the needs of their mutual customers. The Marketing Innovation is awarded to the service provider and vendor that best display leading edge product or service development, practice or operations.

"BMMA plays an integral role in advancing the adoption of broadband services. We are honored to participate in this important organization and receive these prestigious awards from our peers," said Lesley Kirchman, Director of Corporate Marketing at Actiontec. "Our goal is to develop cutting edge products that deliver a top notch broadband experience for service providers, their subscribers, and the industry as a whole."

Marketing Partnership Award
In the Best in Class Marketing Partnership award, Actiontec and TDS Telecom were recognized for their collaboration in the marketing of TDS' new premium VDSL2 service. This new service meets the needs of an increasingly sophisticated broadband consumer, by boosting service speeds to 25 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload. Specifically, the two companies collaborated around Actiontec's V1000H Wireless N VDSL2 Modem Router. This high performance residential router powers faster speeds, enhanced in-home networking options, while also ensuring interoperability with TDS' existing network.

Actiontec's Kirchman and Erik CaPaul, Broadband Product Manager at TDS Telecom, received the award at the BMMA Annual Meeting and gave a presentation on their companies' close collaboration in product development, product testing and interoperability, product deployment, and road map.

"Close collaboration with equipment suppliers helps lay the foundation for successful service deployments. In this case, our long-term relationship with Actiontec results in a seamless roll-out and robust service performance. The router's enhanced feature set gives our customers a compelling reason to upgrade to faster broadband service," said CaPaul.

"The BMMA is pleased to recognize Actiontec and TDS Telecom for the leadership they have demonstrated regarding vendor and service provider cooperation resulting in their mutual benefit and in improved customer offerings for the marketplace," said Ellis Hill, executive director of BMMA.

Marketing Innovation Award
Winner of the Marketing Innovation Award, Actiontec's MI424WR Wireless Broadband Router is the centerpiece of the next-generation FTTx digital home. It is the first device to feature a dual-core, 64-bit processor that allows it to support home networking speeds up to 1 Gbps and enables broadband HDTV and other content to be distributed to multiple devices in the home over coaxial cable.

By bundling fiber-optic Internet and fiber-optic TV, along with a broad range of connectivity options (wireless, Ethernet, coax), into a single box, the MI424WR broadband router offers a seamless entertainment and communication experience throughout all parts of the home network.

The BMMA is a nonprofit organization formed to enhance the business prospects of vendors and service providers in the telco broadband services industry. The organization aims to grow the industry collectively and create an environment that allows each company to compete for its share of the larger overall market.
