LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- January 07, 2013 -- Actiontec Electronics today launched ScreenBeam, a wireless display kit that lets users mirror their PC, tablet and smartphone displays to an HDTV.
ScreenBeam is among the first devices approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance® for their Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast™ program, which simplifies discovery and setup in streaming content to TVs. Actiontec offers ScreenBeam as both a stand-alone wireless display adapter and as a kit. As a stand-alone wireless display adapter, ScreenBeam is compatible with a broad range of Miracast-certified sources including laptops, smartphones, tablets, and devices running Android or WiDi 3.5 and higher. ScreenBeam is also available as a kit, which includes wireless display software and a USB transmitter for Windows 7 & 8 PCs, addressing a large installed base of users who need wireless display capability.
Industry analysts project shipments of Miracast devices to exceed 1.5B units by 2016. The ScreenBeam kit provides a unique solution that lets consumers take advantage of Miracast today, on Windows 7 & 8 PCs, while ensuring future compatibility with Miracast devices as they find their way into homes and businesses.

“Both consumers and professionals want to experience multimedia on the best possible screen,” said Dean Chang, president and CEO at Actiontec Electronics. “It’s no longer acceptable to subject your friends or colleagues to watching your content on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop screen when you can beam it to your projector or flat-panel. ScreenBeam is a simple and affordable way to take advantage of the biggest and best screens in your home or office.”
“Miracast certification ensures interoperability across a wide range of products, and Actiontec has tirelessly tested against all known Miracast-certified source devices to ensure customers have a great experience. ScreenBeam works with all device types and brands; its versatility will continue to grow as consumers bring more Miracast devices into their homes and offices,” added Chang.
