    This software is the same as provided on the original CD, with the exception that the User Manual option is not available. (Due to the size of the manual is has been made available as a separate download.) Both the Camera Setup and the Client Utility Setup can be installed, depending on the needs of your network.

    Does Actiontec sell a Wireless Range Expander or Wireless Repeater, to extend a wireless networks coverage?
    No, Actiontec does not sell a Wireless Repeater. The Wireless Routers, Access Points and Gateways that we currently produce, do not support WDS or Wireless Distribution System. (WDS is a technology that allows the linking of several Wireless Access Points, to create one large Wireless network.)

    Can the antenna on the Actiontec Wireless device be upgraded?
    Yes, this device has an antenna that can be removed and replaced or upgraded. The connection method for this device, Reverse Polarity Sub-Miniture Adapter (RP-SMA), is readily available at most computer or electronics stores.

    How is a replacement Actiontec CD obtained?
    There are two methods for obtaining a replacement Actiontec CD.
    1. Downloading the ISO for free from the Actiontec Support Site. If an ISO is available, it will be posted along with all other Drivers and Software, on the support page for that product. Instructions for converting the ISO file into a CD can be downloaded along with the ISO.
    2. Contacting Actiontec Technical Support by phone and purchasing one. Actiontec CDs can be purchased for $6.95 (including S&H) within the USA, and $8.95 (including S&H) for customers in Europe and the UK.

    Please have your Visa or MasterCard ready, along with product name and model number, or CD part number if available. (MasterCard and Visa are the only cards Actiontec is able to accept.)

    How do I clear a lost Admin username and password on the 802NCG, Wireless Network Camera?
    The Username and Password can be cleared by two methods.
    1. The first is to press the 'Restore To Defaults' button located at the bottom of the Status Screen, and then follow the prompts.
    2. The other is to 'press and hold' the Reset button located on the back of the device, for 3 seconds. When the Reset button is released, the Ready LED will blink three times to confirm that the reset was successful.

    What is the procedure for restoring the 802NCG, Wireless Network Camera back to the default settings?
    There are two methods for restoring or resetting the 802NCG back to defaults.

    Yes, the Actiontec 802.11g 54Mbps Wireless Network Camera (802NCG) does support WPA. This card supports WiFi Protected Access, Pre-Shared Key mode (WPA-PSK, also known as personal mode).

    Currently there are no firmware updates for this product.

    What is the default username and password for the 802NCG, 54Mbps Wireless Network Camera?
    The default username is 'administrator' and the default password is ' '. Meaning that the password field should be left blank. There is no password by default, only a username.

    What is the default IP address for accessing the 802NCG, 54Mbps Wireless Network Camera?
    The default IP address of 192.168.0.99, is the IP address used for accessing the Wireless Network Camera, unless it is be changed by the user.

    What port does the 802NCG Wireless Network Camera use? Or, What port do I need to open in my Firewall, so that the 802NCG Wireless Network Camera can be accessed from the Internet?
    The Wireless Network Camera uses the standard HTTP port of 80, but it will also allow the user to select an alternative port, if they prefer. Port number 1024 is the default alternative port, but the user can assign a port of their choosing.

    For example, if the user had already configured their router to work with port number 8080, because of a previous owned web-cam. The 802NCG can be configured to use port 8080 rather than 1024.
