Actiontec Launches MoCA Network Adapter To Fill In Wi-Fi Coverage Deadzones
WCB3000 kicks off Actiontec’s Whole Home Wireless portfolio, addressing the surge in multiscreen and streaming activities pushing household Wi-Fi to the limit
Washington D.C., The Cable Show, June 11, 2013. – Actiontec Electronics announced the results of its Spring 2013 study on US domestic Wi-Fi habits, revealing a surprising degree of satisfaction with Wi-Fi despite widespread connectivity issues.
The findings were compiled from three independent studies fielded in Spring 2013 from over 1200 participants in the US. The study focused on Wi-Fi trends and the use of connected devices in the home.
The results point to implications for a major correction in satisfaction ratings as whole home multiscreen use increases and Wi-Fi networks strain to meet demands for bandwidth and coverage.
The study also indicated to a lack of education among consumers in troubleshooting and improving Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the home.
“Our study yielded surprising and somewhat worrisome results regarding the incidence of Wi-Fi failure vis-a-vis consumer satisfaction and issue management,” said Lesley Kirchman, Sr. Director of Corporate Marketing at Actiontec. “An overwhelming majority of broadband customers appear to be satisfied with weak Wi-Fi signals.’”
