Actiontec’s Wireless Network Adapter Using MoCA Named A Finalist For Broadband InfoVision Award

WCB3000 recognized for excellence in the area of Broadband Home

Sunnyvale, Calif. – September 10, 2013 – Actiontec Electronics announced today that its Wi-Fi Wireless Network Adapter using MoCA (WCB3000) has been shortlisted for the Broadband InfoVision Awards presented at this year’s Broadband World Forum.

The Broadband InfoVision Awards is a long-standing, prestigious industry awards program that recognizes outstanding technologies developed over the entire broadband ecosystem. Actiontec’s WCB3000 is a shortlisted candidate in the category “Broadband Home” which recognizes an excellent product, service, device or innovation in the area of the Broadband Home that offers significant new prospects for increased revenue, managing costs, improving quality or increasing customer satisfaction.

The adapter helps eliminate dead zones in a home’s Wi-Fi network, so users can enjoy all their favorite devices in any room they choose. It uses a wired MoCA connection and offers dual 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, giving it the best performance around for extending the home’s Wi-Fi network. In fact, the WCB3000 adapter is the first to offer dual-band concurrent radios for less congestion and better wireless performance.

The WCB3000 works directly with a MoCA router; homeowners without a MoCA router can use Actiontec’s MoCA Network Adapter to bring a MoCA network to their home.

“Considering today’s homes have upwards of five connected devices, and often many more, the home Wi-Fi network is more essential than ever. Yet, most Wi-Fi networks have dead spots, and there’s usually a place or two in the home where you can’t use your tablet. The Wireless Network Adapter is an important part of our Whole Home Wireless strategy, and its shortlisting for a prestigious Broadband InfoVision award shows that the device is resonating within the broadband industry,” said Brian Henrichs, chief business development officer at Actiontec Electronics.

The 2013 Broadband InfoVision Awards are judged by an independent expert panel including influential figures from: UN Broadband Commission; Amsterdam Internet Exchange; BSkyB; BT Openreach; Deutsche Telekom; KT, Korea; PCCW, Hong Kong; and Telstra, Australia.

The Broadband InfoVision Awards ceremony will take place on October 23, 2013, at Pomp Station, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. For more information on the shortlisted candidates and awards, please visit: http://broadbandinfovisionawards.com/
