Amazon Introduces the FireTV Cube

Amazon is introducing a new device this month that marries their smart home technology with video streaming. The Fire TV Cube is a 4K-capable streaming device that also supports its voice-based Alexa technology.

From across the room, you will be able to use voice commands, asking Alexa to turn on the TV, dim the lights, and play what you want to watch. Just say, “Alexa, play Atlanta,” and the Fire TV Cube will turn your TV on and start playing the show.

Of course the Fire TV Cube will let you do all the other Alexa functions like checking the weather, listening to the news, and controlling compatible smart home devices, even with the TV off. 

This first ever hands-free streaming media player with Alexa is slated to release on June 21.
