Customize Alexa With Your Own Commands
Amazon just released a new set of Skill Blueprints that you can use to create specific custom commands for Alexa. Twenty are available now and more coming soon.
How to Set it Up
Of course first you need to own an Alexa device, such as Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, Echo Show, or another Alexa-enabled system.
Next, visit the Amazon BluePrints page and choose the skill you want to use for your system. A fun one to try is the Custom Q&A where you can program in any answers to practical questions. For example, you may want to ask, “Alexa, what’s my brother’s phone number?” or “What’s my Netflix password?”
Once you select your skill, just replace the sample questions and answers with your own and save it. It will now be available on all your Alexa-enabled devices.
You can return to the Blueprints page at any time to edit or reformat your skills. Since you may be visiting that page a lot, you may even want to bookmark it for future use.
