Wi-Fi in a bus

To expand Google’s school product market, they are partnering with Kajeet Internet to offer Wi-Fi service on school buses coined “Rolling Study Halls.”

Mobile Classrooms

The initiative is set to help rural communities by providing students with an extended classroom and Internet access for homework and study during long bus rides to and from school.

This pilot program begins in North and South Carolina and will then extend to another 16 school districts in other rural areas where bus commutes are lengthy.

Education is the Priority

Google will combine this mobile Internet access effort with sales of Chromebooks and other educational-related products and services for students.

Kajeet is excited to reinvent itself as an Internet provider after last August when they scrapped their MVNO program that provided phones for kids. Always invested in education, this partnership with Google breathes fresh life back into Kajeet and gives them a new opportunity to make a difference.
