Ongoing Issues with PlayStation Network

Unfortunately, users are reporting a second round of issues with Sony’s PlayStation Network. For the past few days, users have been experiencing difficulty accessing the network. The PSN status page shows “experiencing issues.”

It appears that these troubles coincided with the release of two new games “Dragon Ball FighterZ” and “Monster Hunter: World.” Both new games were launched over the weekend. Sony confirmed this issue and said it seems to affect PlayStation Now, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Music services on all PlayStation 3 and 4 systems.

Status and a Quick Fix

The status page for PSN today reports “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features,” and the company adds, “our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”

As a temporary fix offered on PlayStation’s Twitter account, users can log out of the account that is having issues. Then power down the PS4 and go to the web and log onto playstation.com. After doing that, they may return power to their PlayStation system, and it should resolve the issue.
