We Don’t Trust Social Networks With Our Data, But We Still Use Them

A May 2018 survey by Rad Campaign found that 61% of social media users do not trust the platforms. In 2014 and 2016, this number was just above 50%.

Though many people do not trust social platforms, they still use them daily.  For platforms like Facebook and Instagram, daily usage numbers have actually increased despite the mistrust.

In these reports, Millennials were the least critical. Still, more than half of the survey results showed that people do not trust social platforms with their data. However, these privacy concerns have not caused users to stop using social media altogether. It seems that it has only limited what people are willing to share.
