Parks Associates: 2018 Top 10 Subscription OTT Video Services

Parks Associates released a list of the top 10 subscription OTT video services with the most subscribers in the US. It comes as no surprise that Netflix, Amazon and Hulu hold the top three spots. HBO Now and Starz moved into the top five, followed by MLB.TV, Showtime, CBS All Access, Sling TV and DIRECTV Now.

Additional findings include:

  • Amazon Prime has more members than Netflix but not all Prime members use Prime Video, allowing Netflix to take the lead.
  • According to Parks Associates’ “OTT Video Market Tracker,” OTT video subscriptions have a 64% penetration rate in US broadband households. Of these, 66% subscribe to Netflix, Prime Video or Hulu.
  • 36% of US broadband households have two or more OTT video service subscriptions.
  • OTT churn rates have dropped from 31% of OTT subscriptions cancelled in 2015 to 28% in 2018.
