Apple’s New Products

Apple recently launched a handful of new products. There’s a lot to say about how these products will allow users to watch new content, read news, play games and have a healthier financial life, but here’s a digestible breakdown of each one:


Apple TV App

Apple announced its new Apple TV app and Apple TV channels, which will debut in May 2019. The app will brings together different ways to discover and watch shows, news and more in a single app across devices. Users can subscribe to new Apple TV channels à la carte and watch them in the Apple TV app with no additional apps, accounts or passwords required. 


Apple TV+

Apple TV+, Apple’s original video subscription service, will feature original content and a lot of big names, including Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jon M. Chu and more. Subscribers will enjoy inspiring and authentic stories with emotional depth and compelling characters from all walks of life. Better yet, the content will be ad-free, on demand and available online or offline.

Pricing and availability for the Apple TV+ video subscription service will be announced this fall.


Apple News+

When the original Apple News app isn’t cutting it anymore, you can immerse yourself in an expansive news and magazine content with Apple News+. Subscribing to this new reading experience will get you access to over 300 news and magazine publications.

Apple News+ is currently available in the US for $9.99 a month and in Canada for $12.99 a month. Customers can sign up for a free one-month trial, and the plan automatically renews after the trial ends. 


Apple Card

Looking to balance your financial life? Apple is here to help with its new credit card called Apple Card. Users can find the Apple Card built in to the Apple Wallet app found on all iPhones. This new kind of credit card experience links with Apple Pay, gives you cash back on all purchases (called Daily Cash), has no fees or interest and is fully secured with Touch ID or Face ID authorization. Everything is designed to work together. For locations that do not yet accept Apple Pay, users can get a titanium Apple Card.


Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade is a new gaming subscription service with over 100 original games to play on mobile or desktop. It is set to launch in Fall 2019. This expansion from the App Store offers games created by some of the most critically acclaimed developers worldwide. Users can still find free games in App Store, but those that subscribe to Apple Arcade won’t have to pay for games they like upfront. They will be able to try out as many games as they like for the subscription price, risk-free.
