Driver’s License App for Louisiana Residents

Have you ever left the house and realized that you forgot your driver’s license? Well, if you are a Louisiana resident that might not be an issue any longer. Reportedly, for Louisiana residents, a new phone app lets you carry your driver’s license on your smartphone.

The smartphone app is called LA Wallet and is free to download. However, there is a $5.99 one-time charge to activate your driver’s license in the app. The activated license shows a physical picture of your license and is good for the duration of your issuance.

Envoc, a Louisiana-based software development firm, designed the app alongside state police and Office of Motor Vehicles. Safety features were built into the app as well, such as pin number protection and the ability to unlink the license if the user loses their phone or has it stolen.
