world wifi day

World Wi-Fi Day is a global initiative to bridge the digital divide, organized by the Wireless Broadband Alliance under the leadership of Connected City Advisory Board (CCAB).

This day is designed to recognize and celebrate the significant role that Wi-Fi plays in cities and communities around the world though innovative projects that ‘connect the unconnected’.

The “HOPE for Connectivity” charter directs the attention of government bodies and other partners to four key themes:

  • Help:fund Wi-Fi deployments to connect unconnected communities around the world
  • Offer: affordable Wi-Fi access to unconnected communities in rural and urban areas
  • Promote:the success of Wi-Fi in order to connect cities and communities
  • Engage:and recognize the function of Wi-Fi to address the digital divide

Which projects do you support to help the world or your community get connected?
