In a recent study, Juniper research found that major video streaming services are seeing increased churn rates in the US and the UK, with Amazon Prime at -2.9% and HBO Now at -19.2%. Netflix on the other hand shows positive adoption rates in both the US and the UK.

Given the number of subscription video on demand (SVOD) available, the survey shows that Chinese and US users have an average of 3 subscriptions each, which indicates that no provider offers everything users want in one subscription.

Additional information includes:

  • Content curation and engaging customers with content is a growing issue among providers.
  • The study shows that those who stream content continue to utilize broadcast sports.
